Local Explorer Programs Attend Scout Blast
                 Competition In Georgia

                    Union County Sheriff's Explorers and Sharps Chapel Fire Explorers
                    Represent Tennessee In This Year's Event

                        The 2010 Scout Blast Competition was held at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Georgia
                        on Saturday, April 17, 2010.  The day-long event started early Saturday morning and went
                        into the late afternoon as Explorers demonstrated their skills and competed against each other.

                        The Fire Explorer teams competed in Knot Tying, Combat Challenge, Quick Dress, Bucket
                        Brigade, and Tug-Of-War.

                        In the fire explorer competition, six (6) teams competed, including Gwinnett County, Henry
                        County, Hall County, DeKalb County, all teams from Georgia.  Also competing were teams
                        from Asheville, North Carolina and Sharps Chapel, Tennessee.

                        The Sharps Chapel Explorer team brought home First Place in the Bucket Brigade Challenge,
                        Third Place in the Tug-Of-War, and Fourth Place in the Quick Dress competition.

                        Sharps Chapel Explorers participating included:  Adam Brantley, Bryce Raley, Blake Houston,
                        Jacob Morris, Jason Morris, Justin Cox, Jessica Morris, Brandon Collins, Jordon Smallwood,
                        and Keaton Lester.

                        Advisors in attendance from Sharps Chapel included:  Chief Chris Upton, Assistant Chief Kevin
                        Brantley, Mitch Lester, Darrell Morris, and Michele Morris.
