The Sharps Chapel Fire Department Junior Firefighter Post attended the 2009 Scout Blast again this year in Lawrenceville, Georgia. This year the young firefighters brought home more awards. They received 1st Place in Tug-Of-War, 1st Place in Tool & Equipment Identification, 2nd Place in Bucket Brigade, 2nd Place in Build-A-Water-Chute, and 3rd Place in Hose Entanglement. The Junior Firefighter team this year consisted of Adam Brantley, Bryce Railey Keaton Lester, Jordon Smallwood, Justin Cox & Brandon Collins. Chief Chris Upton, Assistant Chief Kevin Brantley, and Lt. Mitch Lester also attended the Blast with the Explorers & everyone had a great competition. Chief Upton said he and the Department are very proud of the Junior Firefighters.
