SCVFD Gets Early Christmas Gift From Up North
The Sharps Chapel Volunteer Fire Department recently received an early Christmas present from fellow firefighters up North.
A couple of weeks ago, Al Wescott and Dave Wescott of the Barrett Township Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania brought in a truckload of firefighter gear. The Wescotts had collected the gear from their department, Pocono Township VFD and East Stroudsburg VFD, all in Pennsylvania.
Chief Chris Upton and all of the members of the Sharps Chapel VFD would like to express their sincere appreciation to these departments and the Wescotts for their assistance in providing our firefighters with better and safer gear to use at emergency calls.
Upton said they brought around 60 sets of good turnout gear, which included some helmets and boots also. Upton said he was grateful for the gear, because some of the current gear at SCVFD was in bad condition. Upton said firefighter safety is very important and a great concern.
